Rejected by Berkeley.
I think UCLA was like a vaccine for me, though. A smaller dose of disappointment inoculated me from the bigger disappointment.
And it probably helped that I’ve been in a wonderful mood all day (I‘m going to see the amazing Leonard Cohen with an equally amazing friend whom I haven‘t seen in over 10 months).

ReplyDeleteI WAS devastated when I was rejected by UCLA, but then again, THAT news came on my birthday...
It was mostly a hit to my ego. I know that rejection doesn't change anything about me, my abilities, and my potential.
