This "Generation 1.5" thing isn't working for me

So the name that I hear floated around to describe foreign-born children of immigrants who grew up in the United States is "Generation 1.5." We're not really first-generation immigrants, because we didn't make a conscious decision to leave our countries and start anew in a new land. But we aren't second-generation immigrants either, because we were not born in our adopted land.

I gotta say though, I'm not really digging the moniker. Not too catchy.

Media, get off your swine flu obsession, and get on this! (Face it, you need a new distraction). And Raza, get on this label thing before the media gives us a terrible one like it did to Generations x,y, and z!

    2. not to be contradictory. But I kind of like it. It in a way encapsulates our lives. We are not quite a whole just point five.
