from my Senior Awards night.
I didn't feel like going, but I had the Nikon from newspaper, so I HAD to go (someone had to take pictures).
In any case, it was pretty standard. Exactly what you'd imagine. Looking at the program, and the fact that only 20 Seniors had GPAs above 3.5 was a little depressing, though.
I was mostly bored-- struggled against the very real temptation to bust out my David Foster Wallace short stories and read by the light of my cell phone.
So, in the midst of my boredom I was awarded a couple of honors though. And it was when I was up there that I realized how little that recognition meant to me. How little all of high school meant to me, really. And how glad I am to be done with it.
